TIA : Facilitating Trade and Investment

Over the last two days the Tunisian delegation to the UK has been meeting with businesses and trade organisations across the UK, as part of its information gathering to inform a forthcoming Tunisia-UK Investment Strategy. Today the delegation met with Santander UK PLC, to learn more about their forthcoming North Africa Banking Corridor - to help facilitate trade and investment between the UK and Tunisia.

The delegation met with John Carroll, Head of International Transaction Banking, who praised Tunisia and the positive perception of the country following the Arab Spring, and with recent business and regulatory reforms.

Talking through the sector priorities for the UK and Tunisia, the meeting highlighted how Santander can work with TIA and FIPA to promote Tunisia to UK investors, and facilitate increased ties between the two countries. The potential of a future event on opportunities for UK investors in Tunisia will be explored for later in 2020.
